Hey guys, I seem to be an outlier among you because I have a clevo w230st but I'm not that great around computers lol...

I've been having a lot of problems with my clevo and I've come to the conclusion that it's best to just format the computer and see if the problems go away. However, I'm not quite sure how to do that so it would be super appreciated if someone can give me an outline of what I should do. I really don't want to screw up.

    I have:
    the sager midern recovery dvd
    a windows 8.1 (upgraded from windows 8) clevo w230st

I just want to know how to restore this to factory settings. I can't seem to use the inbuilt refresh option from windows 8 because I did the online update to 8.1 (so I've read online).

I'm just really confused as to why they gave me a dvd when the clevo has no dvd drive :( and I really don't know how to format this computer.

I have another laptop with a disk drive -- so I use that to create the usb? I heard that the sager recovery disks are really bad though... like they don't give you everything?

They're just OEM installation DVDs. When you use them to do a full install of Windows, you're left with just the OS and the bare minimum from the installation disc. All the drivers will have to come afterwards from Sager's site or the drivers disc (which you may need to transfer to a USB drive also, unless you can get your hands on a spare external USB optical drive).
