3550. Now I'm taking that money adn getting a much better sager for cheaper than I paid for my alienware. YAY.

Question. What's the TV Tuner do, and is it worth the 75 bucks? Also, I have bluetooth phone and on my desktop but don't use it much. Is it worth the 30 bucks?

Here's the Sager configuration I'm getting...

    SAGER NP 9750
    Sager NP9750 - V
    17" WUXGA+ (1920 x 1200) Active Matrix , Glare-Type Display

    AMD Athlon 64 X2 4400+ (2.2Ghz; L2 Cache: 1MB x 2) Toledo

Artic Silver 5 (AS5) Thermal CPU Paste Compound
    (^WHAT IS THIS?)

    nVIDIA GeForce 7900 GTX PCI-Express 16x 256MB GDDR3
(If the 512 shows no real difference, I'll save 300 bucks for the 256 card!)

    2048 MB DDR SDRAM (400 MHz, PC-3200, Dual Channel) (2 x 1024 MB)

100 GB Hard Drive (7200 RPM) SATA
Add 2nd 100 GB HDD (7200 RPM) SATA
HDD RAID Settings - 0 (Stripe) - Combines primary and secondary hard drive

    8X DVD±R/RW / 4X+Dual Layer / 5X DVD-RAM / CD-RW Multi Drive (Pioneer DVR-k16)

    External USB Floppy Drive
    Built in 56k V.90 Modem
Built in 10/100/1000 Fast Ethernet / LAN Network Card
    Wireless (Wi-Fi) Lan Card 802.11g (54 Mbps)
Smart Lithium Ion Battery (12 Cells)
    Integrated 7-in-1 Card Reader

Integrated Video Camera / Internal Subwoofer Module

    Auto-switching AC Adapter (220W; 100-250V)
    Free Carry Case
Microsoft Windows XP-Professional Installed, recovery CD included
1-year parts / 1-year labor warranty from Sager
Lifetime toll-free technical support by calling 800-741-2219 (or 626-964-4849)

Optional LCD or Accidental Damage Protection (ADP) Warranty (Begins 1st day of laptop ownership)

It all comes out ot 3209. If I add the tv tuner and the blue tooth it comes to 3314

Arctic Silver 5 is a thermal compound, made of 99.9% pure silver. It helps keep the CPU's temperature down. There is a small bit about it in the cooling guide:
    http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=60914

That's as powerful as it gets, the system should fly with dual 100GB 7200RPM's in a RAID array.

You gotta get paid first on ebay boy :)
How much did you buy the alienware for ? Why did you sell it ? It has 4 memory banks, and it can take 4GB memory right now.

The chipset only supports just short of 2.8GB. If someone is trying suggest the Alienware or any current Pentium 4 laptop can support (as opposed to just put it in there) 4GB they are simply woofing you.

My bad - I thought 4 slots meant 4GB supported at least
Though I remember seeing someone claiming that alienware laptop supported like 8GB

I was paid. The guy paid immediately.

My laptop isn't P4. It's AMD.SO... what? Either way, 2 GB is crazy enough. ALso, if ALienware has 4 slots, I'm sure the 9750 does too, since they're the same thing, no?

    I'm still awaiting opinions on...

Question. What's the TV Tuner do, and is it worth the 75 bucks? Also, I have bluetooth phone and on my desktop but don't use it much. Is it worth the 30 bucks?

Whoever is quoting a $300 savings on the GeForce Go 7900 GTX w/256MB missed one little number.

The $300 savings is for the 7800, not the 7900. ;)

If you intend to send photos from your phone to your laptop, and use a bluetooth mouse & keyboard...then yes, the Bluetooth would be useful to you.

I feel that Bluetooth is becoming more common, so having it might be worth the money. But of course it all comes down to what you want.

Hmm..... So like what about the tv tuner? Is that worth it? I'm assuming it just allows me to hook something up to my laptop and watch tv on it...but like, why not just go in the living room and watch it? Not worth it, right?

Unless it does something I'm not getting?

Yeah I'd like to know what the tv tuner does exactly also. Can it take in HD signals, so I could use my awesome wuxga laptop lcd with my xbox 360? I doubt it, but not sure. Is there such a device?

I know you can record the signal that comes in, so you could set up a PVR on your laptop. And if you're in a hotel room or something, you could maybe get free spankvision by circumventing the in house ppv system.

I think it might also get over the air signals, so if you're not connected somewhere you could still watch tv.

Wait so you don't have to hhook anything up to it? You can like, hook up to cable tv wirelessly like wireless internet?

    What's a PVR?

The Tuner is not High-Definition, only standard. It is possible to use the xbox on your laptop, but I'm not sure if the TV tuner in the NP9750 will do that for you.

    PVR = Personal Video Recorder.

Can you watch the tv without having basic cable installed in it? How does it work? Why would you use xbox on a laptop?

I don't have an HDTV but I do have WUXGA on my M570U, so it'd be cool if I could use that as an HD screen, but I guess it's not possible.

So I spoke to Mathew from discount laptops. Apparently donald was correct. It was a typo. I would have been getting the 7800 gtx card. Not the 7900 256mb. I asked how much it'd be to go up to just the 256 card and he told me Sager absolutely had no more 256 to give. I had been speaking to him alot these past few weeks. He felt bad I ordered the 7900 and couldn't get it so he gave me a 50 dollar discount on the 512mb 7900 gtx. I figured, what the hell.. It's alot of money, but it's a 40% increase of the 7800 at least.. So what the crap. I ordered the 512 mb 7900 GTX card with a total of 3374.00
