Was playing a game the other day and got a blue screen that said hardware fault and crashed my machine (info in sig).
I tried running a couple games and kept getting the lockups/bluescreen/crash so I uninstalled all the drivers/safe mode/driver clean etc. with several drivers and I keep getting the yellow exclamation point in the device manager on my 8800m GTX with error code 43. Now I am stuck using the standard VGA adapter to run my machine. Any suggestions?
I am also planning on getting a mini screwdriver to open up my case to check things out sometime soon to see if there is an obviously wrong with it.
I checked online and a replacement 8800m GTX is going to run me ~$250 from Ebay. Is it possible to put a 9800m GTX in my Sager or are the only viable cards the 8800m GTX and I believe the 9700m GT?
Thanks.

Might of burnt out..... did the laptop feel very hot when you were playing?
-
Hmmmm... You should open it up and check for visible damage. Also, is your machine still under warranty?
-
I didn't notice it being excessively hot or anything and I didn't have the fans going at max speed.
I have had it for ~1.5 years and I didn't get anything beyond the basic 1 year warranty so yup it is expired.
I have also never opened it up to clean out the fans etc. so I plan on doing that today and checking for any obvious damage to the card. Just need to get a super mini philips head screwdriver. -

a seller on ebay is selling a major quantity for same model for 250+shipping

Something to do ^ if you're waiting for a card you order, or if you need to use your computer today. -
Mine died recently and I got one on ebay for 250
-
So, to anyone who is 100% sure their card is dead I recommend baking it to get some extra use out of it. -
I called sager about the ones on ebay, according to them the 8800m gtx are for only the 57 units since their bios is different then the np9262 so it wont work. I would love to order one to go SLI.
-
As far as I know you just have to reflash them with the respective bios and it should work flawlessly, right?
-
But you also need the sli cable and heatsink assembly to run them in the D90xC
-
That goes without saying ^^
I've actually ordered a np 8662 for my girlfriend with prostar and inquired about getting a vga heatsink, vga fan and sli cable for my d901c and the guy told me he won't sell it without another 8800m gtx. While that is nothing new it was funny when he tried to convince me not to buy the one from ebay because "it would take high technical skill" to install it. I mean for normal users it is advanced stuff to flash a bios and maybe even stick the card + heatsink assembly in there, but come on.
The only thing that keeps me from getting the ebay card right now is the problems of getting hold of a heatsink assembly in europe =( -
I took 5 min following the instructions from the disassembly manual. -

No. I got it from the store I bought my PC. You could try more stores, the 8800m gtx are now obsolete so they will be happy to get rid of them if they have any.
I thik my 8800m GTX died...
