Quotes are coming out goofy as well, and load times a brutally slow...NBR is definitely having server issues
-
yeah, don't worry i took the link out of the href. So i just have two options try to fix it my self and get rid my warranty or external audio card. Well i am sending my laptop in for repairs for overheating eventually but now ill do it since the audio is messed up also.
-
Hmmm.... Sager is cr@pping their customers up!!
I know how it feels when the audio jack prob arises!but we can do little to prevent it as this prob seems inevitable !!
For the audio, i'd recommend " Creative SoundBlaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio Notebook" sound card!!
The sound is awesome as compared to the realtek anytime!!
Even if ur jack gets repaired and u listen to how the creative X-Fi sounds like, u'll never go back to listening through the notebook's audio jack again!! believe me! -
^^ Tis' true! I got one myself, and now I just CANNOT go back !!
-
Ya i got the Creative Sound Card as i bought the Laptop and it is amazing.
-
But the creative card is like 75-80 bucks. Is there any place to get it for a more reasonable price?
-
NewEgg or Ebay perhaps?
I got my PCMCIA version via a guy from the DescentBB.net forums for $65 US when it was $100 retail and I'm still using it. -
Ya the front jacks on mine had issues from day one, and only get worse. Dell has the creative card over there for 65, plus they shipped overnight DHL even though I ordered the standard 3 day shipping. And dell has really good warranty on everything. Remember if you want to output in 7.1, you have to buy a seperate adapter for it. Thats like buying a case fan that doesn't come with any wires to hook it up... kinda cheap... but the sounds is phenomenal!

Newegg unfortunately doesn't carry that. I bought mines on Amazon for 70 something. But it seems like they are out of stock.
-
I posted this in another thread (mods: should I just create a thread?) but @ the owners of the X-Fi notebook card: How do you like it?

What a ripoff...they're charging $20 more and the canadian dollar is almost at parity with the USD. -
Well I guess Dell doesn't like Canada! Who knows why they would do that...

I agree.
You'll like the X-Fi card though. Restores MP3's real nice, offloads power from the cpu, overall very satisfied.
It does stick out a 1/4" off the chassis though. -
I know.
But having both the USB Creative and the Express Card Creative, I can actually see which is betterAnd by how much.

You totally went off topic there. Please keep all politics discussions in the Off Topic section. I have deleted several posts to keep this thread clean.

Fair enough flip. Back to topic I really want this card but I don't want to pay this ridiculous price.
-
As I said, I'll review them both tomorrow and I`ll let you know how much is what and what.
-
Has anyone tried the Asus Xonar U1? It's an external USB sound card.

@eleron: How much of a difference does the usb/expresscard interface make? Is it worth the extra money to get the internal x-fi? Thanks! -
I`m going to compare them today and will give you all a heads up
(of course, with pics)
-
Awesome, thanks in advance eleron!
