Clevo will be releasing ATI 6xxxM series in March...

Now obviously 6xxxM series is newer than 460M. Anyone has any info other than estimated release date such as, which one of 6xxxM GPU will be supported for NP8130, will the price be the same, will it be better than 460M by much or not?

Or am I asking all the wrong questions or at wrong time?

    Thank you

The 6xxxM would be offered on that notebook for sure is no doubt but cheaper then the 460m i don't think so more powerfull yes about 35% faster

humm...if it will be cheaper + faster then I am making the right decision by waiting...I was wondering if there is any comparison charts for those two with SB CPU's...

It's hard to say. Just because it's a 6xxx series, it may not be nearly as powerful as the GTX 460m, who knows. If you can wait, then wait, otherwise the price for performance that the Clevos are offering right now are great IMHO.

The HD 6970M definitely be faster than the GTX 460M, but it will also be more expensive (most likely). But what is important: The NP8130 will probably not get support for it. The NP81 50 will get support for it. The NP8130 will probably get support for the HD 6 870M which is basically a refined Mobility Radeon HD 5870 and is about as fast as the GTX 460M, not worth the wait. So if you wanna get the NP8130 and not the NP8150 you don't really need to wait.

argh...why don't they at least offer 470M? did they make that card just to...well I don't know what was the reason behind that card. I thought NP8130 would get 6870M which would be "better" somehow than 460M but it isn't really...oh boy..decisions decisions..I don't want to get a year old GPU tech with a brand new CPU tech...nor do/can I spend extra money on 485M.

plain business. you see the offer is between 460m and 485m. with 485m out 470m prices should drop a bit, but they don't, instead they temporarily omit the card. replacing it with the new 485m. its a matter of keeping your sales and income while developing or preparing another line up of gpus.

It was said by one of the retailers here that it is just out of stock and should come back at then end of the month (though I'm not sure it will be available on the 8130).

Which laptops actually offered 470M? notebookcheck doesn't list any laptops with that card...or am not looking at the wrong place?

Edit: Oh I see, sager has/had it.
