Things to consider:
- I changed the stock thermal paste to AS5 some months ago.
- I live in a tropical country, and my room is kinda hot when I'm not using AC (at least 27~32c)
I run GTA V in the following settings:
- NVDIA Control Panel
AF: 16x
FXAA: On
Power management: Prefer maximum performance
SLI: On
Anisotropic sample optimization: On
Negative LOD Bias: Clamp
- GTA V
High/Very High
Blur: Off
Advanced Graphics: Off
1920x1080
Logs from MSI Afterburner while running the game: http://imgur.com/a/EacyL - When they start rising is when I started the game, and when they went down is when I turned off the game and let run on idle just for you guys see the idle temps too.
What caught my eyes was the massive pagefile use, is that normal?
Many thanks.

What caught my attention was the high CPU temps. CPU temps should not exceed 100C under no circumstances or you risk premature wear on the chip. Perhaps you should look at repasting it again in case you made a mistake the last time or the paste dried out over time. What method did you use for applying AS5?

Ya they are all running super hot. Definitely need a repaste. Make sure the coverage is good on it by reviewing your last job. Did you do any tests before putting that paste onto it? Might try a notebook cooler as well.

Thanks guys. So the "method" I used was simple, cleaning the stock paste, then applying a little circle of AS5 paste in the middle of the chip and then putting the heat sink back pressing it a little against the chip so that the paste spread equally, that's all I did. I didn't use much of paste because people said if I use too much it may slip inside the chip and damage it.
I didn't do any tests. And how can I review it? If I remove the heat sink it will "cancel" my job, right? -

Yes, i think we need to start there however as it doesn't appear to be covering it properly since your temps are well into the 100's. -
Ok, so do I apply it again using the same method or is there any better?
-
AS5 is junk.. Get IC Diamond or even better option is Gelid GC Extreme.. Temps will be much better!
-
Not an option for me, where I live AS5 is the only well-known brand available

I have been using AS5 for years with good results. It may be a bit old school these days, but CPU temps at 100C is not a result of bad quality paste but rather bad application.
On the new CPUs I use the line method. The key to this method is to watch how much paste you apply as it is easy to get carried away and use too much. Just a thin line is enough to cover the whole die. -
Well, GTA is indeed a game with horse sh** performance, on normal use I don't even hear the fans most of the time, and the temp of the computer is very natural, nothing hot, even when I'm using programming IDE, Photoshop, Illustrator, etc. The temps only go wild when playing GTAV.
About the line method, that's exactly what I used for the CPU as the chip is rectangular and I couldn't use the little dot method I used on both GPUs.
Is there any default software where I can really test the temps and such?Last edited: Feb 1, 2016 -

I got some pretty heavy use out of my P570WM and 980M SLI setup at 1440p with draw distances set to highest.

Maybe try HWmonitor as well? Typically MSI afterburner is pretty similar but HWmonitor will allow for secondary checks?
-
On normal use (Chrome: complete 30min video @ 1080p on Youtube + 2 tabs) + Spotify + Google Drive + AV + Mouse software: http://pastebin.com/VJDafabe - Good temps for normal use? Remember that I live in a tropical country
I'll later try it while gaming, I'll run GTAV for some time then start the software and save the log, too bad it can't keep logging while gaming like Afterburner does, at least the free version.Last edited: Feb 3, 2016 -

ya 54-60 is looking pretty good let us know how it goes under load (GTAV)

70 looks much better
Believe the repasting worked then. -
I didn't repaste yet, I'm just testing the temps with HWmonitor. Here's another, this time 1:30h into the game, taken right after a crowded server with explosions and such: http://pastebin.com/ZXSbsx9XLast edited: Feb 4, 2016

HWMonitor also logs max temperatures. What are those temps? You can just get a screenshot of the HWMonitor window after gaming. It would seem odd to me that MSI Afterburner would be off by so much.

Done, after playing GTAV for 1 ~ 1:30h: http://imgur.com/a/XMhoB
Those MIN and MAX temps varies according to the current temp of the PC, they rise when I start games. -

Those look pretty in line with what I would expect.

i_pk_pjers_i Even the ppl who never frown eventually break down
Those are a bit higher than what I would like to see - but personally, I overclock.
You should be fine with those temps. -

Looking much better than the initial afterburner. Overall you should be good, while they are still getting hot, if your under 90 you'll probably be fine.

Have you done the foilmod? It helps a lot

Never heard about it, can you explain or link?
-
Use foil tape to close gaps between fan and heatsinks.
Here you can get it and much more http://forum.notebookreview.com/index.php?threads/757446/Last edited: Feb 9, 2016
I'd like some advice on my SAGER NP9370 healthy
