hey guys, i'm looking for a new laptop and i'm looking into sager and i am a little confused. on some sites, like powernotebooks.com, i can customize a sager notebook from them. do they get the notebook from sager with my specifications, or do they order it from sager barebones and put it together themselves? and since sager and alienware get their computers from clevo, does this basically mean i would be getting an alienware for much cheaper? any help would be appreciated. thanks

also, what is this dead pixel policy?? is there a good possibility that the computer would come with dead pixels? i am a bit concerned because the big companies such as dell and toshiba don't offer this, so i assume their monitors have no dead pixels?

Alienware and Sager aren't exclusively Clevo.
Sager also sells Compal, and Alienware has other brands it sells.

Both 5790 and 9260 from Sager are Clevo: resp. the m570ru and the D900
There's not much better, certainly not at such a decent price :)

The dead pixel policy is a way to get extra money out of your pockets: chances are pretty big that your laptop will arrive with 0 dead pixels. However, in case 1 or 2 dead pixels do show up, you'll be happy you got the warranty :) And face it: if you're spending $2000 to $3000, those few extra dollars won't make a big difference :)

Yes XoticPC and PowerNotebooks.com are just resellers and dont make compuers, they are just the "Child that comes to your door" in a sense, except you go to them.

DONT get dead pixel policy, if there was such a great chance of getting dead pixels, they wouldn't have that option. spend that money on something thats worth it, better CPU, RAM etc...
