    I'm buying a Sager5792, but...

I've decided to buy the Sager5792 next month, but I've got a few questions first:

I've seen pictures of this model (on their website, as well as the Clevo website) in an optional silver version, as opposed to the one with the orange accents. But when I go to customize it, I see no option for the silver version. What am I suppose to do to get this non-orange version? (I also have the same problem with getting a 32 bit OS vs. a 64 bit OS)

And will there be a difference in power consumption between the old version (the 8700) and the new 8800 GTX version? The battery life was pretty good on the last one so I'm hoping it doesn't change much.

Battery life on the new one is going to be slight worse but not by a considerable factor. I have no clue on how to get the silver one, and are you buying from sager or Xoticpc. Because I know Xoticpc has a live chat, so you can go and ask.

Atm, you can't get the white version in the US. You have to order it from Eurocom or Rockdirect or any other non-us reseller.

Wu Jen is correct, only the orange version is being offered in the US because most people who looked at the silver/white version in person thought it was...how shall I say it...bxtt ugly.

You can get the 32bit Vista installed on a Sager, but then all you will get is the 32bit media. However if you get the 64bit installed you will get both the 64bit and the 32bit media. So if you want 32bit for now you can just format and install the 32bit version and save the 64bit media (and Product Key) to install later. The Product Key will work with both versions.

You know I personally think it's the other way around. I thought the orange version was ugly and the white/silver version was better looking. But I guess I'd really have to see both in person to really make up my mind.

I like the look of the orange one a lot hehe.

I don't see why they aren't both readily available.

IE, if you want a white one in the US, you can order it, but have to wait 4-6 weeks etc etc.

That is the point...the pictures give one impression but in person it was pretty unanimous.

However every eye views things a bit differently.

Yeah, there seems to be quite a demand for the silver trim version. It's just a chasis color, I don't understand why someone's opinion should stop it from coming. I mean, people will literally buy the system just because of looks and if they think the silver trim looks hot, they'll buy it.

I have preorder a m571ru from eurocom... now i just have to wait... like everyone :(

I prefer the silver trim... look more "serious" and less "gaming"

That's actually the orange one. But I did see a black one on a Chinese site once.

What is pictured there IS the Sager NP5792...if you look carefully you will see the small orange trim line.

Apparently people who have bought the orange trim say that the web pics don't do it justice as in reality it is more of a metallic copper colour.
