hackness,
Can you repost to this thread?

Hello,
Not sure why it went blank but I have contacted the administrator.
Here is what was posted (Almost the same as I don't have a backup):
Hello guys,
I found this on uk.hardware.info, not sure if it has already been posted but there you go:
Nvidia GTX 680M to launch at Computex? | Hardware.Info United Kingdom
3dMark 11: P4905 Seems like a huge gap compared to HD 7970M. -
i would be upset if nvidia cant out do amd. if they dont it better be cheaper, but i doubt that!
-
I can't confirm the performance numbers, but I can confirm the picture is accurate
There should be a SLI version also, at least that's what we are being told.
-
Well, if the picture really is accurate, then it's already a let-down, just look at the voltage supply circuits...
-
I'm have already thought of waiting for the GTX 685M if there is going to be one
. But chances are nVidia might just go for the 700M line
.
-
You don't want the 7970m?
-
If you're in the market, buy now with an ATI 7970M. Else, you'll never be satisfied waiting for the next big thing, that too if you're only waiting for one single company's products. Bottomline: No supreme happiness without a little compromise.
-
I do, but I still have a little faith in nVidia
.
-
right, look at the power phase/inductor, 680m wont be 100w tdp, about 75~85w i guess
and that leak score......lets take it with a grain of salt, it is first buggy "es sample" which dell/clevo got around early april(clevo rd got the es on 4/5, fall behind dell
), not "qual sample" we see in that pic, and ofcourse the driver running was crappy too.....
-
Yeah sure, keep your hopes up... ALL the way up!!
*chuckles*

Release June. Available August.
..so I hear -
Odd...how can they call it a release when it's not available for 2 more months after?
PS, I like the new metro-styled logo.
-
Wait for 7990m
-
Larry@LPC-Digital Company Representative
Yes I would not put much faith in those bench numbers...
Let's just wait and see....
- -
What's the 7970M rated at? I thought there wasn't enough room for 7990M under the 100W cap..?
If 680M is a lower W card, nvidia could push out a 685M. Will be interesting to see how things go.. I've got to wait till August anyways so I'm impatiently kicking back and watching things unfold. -
If the 7970m was going to be final, then it would be named 7990m.
Also, the 7970m is a Wimbledon XT. There will be XTX version, wich is 7990m.
This was the case with the 6000 series.
The wattage will stay the same, but they will add 160 shaders or maybe more.
1440 shaders anyone?
-
But how much higher will the price be D:

They are the same company that sell their old 580M as a new 675M!
Thanks, really happy with how our new website came out! -
Oh man that would have been sooo sweeeeet. 75W and P4900++
That would make room for a pretty awesome GTX685M
One thing I have problem with though is that the 3DMark11 score is from the early April leak, that was a GK106 (!) GPU, not this GPU pictured, since it is a GK104. -
August?! I need a new laptop now. And the only thing I am waiting for is a the 3D version of the P170EM, that's all I need. Anyone have an ETA on it?
-
"Summer" their biggest problem is the decision as to if its going to be Optimus or not, as nV is saying 3D + Optimus = No, and if no then they have to redesign the board to not be Optimus, which is a good thing for the Linux crowd
But besides "Summer" thats about what we got -
Lol, best release date ever..
"Summer" ftw
-
Better than the Blizzard / Valve release dates which are basically "We got a lot of money, when its done we'll let you guys know"
-
Well that be argued.
At least when they make something it's uncanny and severely perfect.
nVIDIA and AMD have their .. special moments
-
i think no, Wimbledon XT=desktop hd7870 fully unlocked core without trimmed down, so if there is xtx, its only a higher clocked xt, maybe 1ghz edition?
and the best performance core now is hd7870/7850, not hd7970/7950
just like:
broadway xt=hd5870m=full desktop hd5770 core
and we know theres no broadway xtx, but this rare es card is no doubt faster, but never released: lexington, core based on desktop cypress(hd5830)
-
Oh yes.
Soon (TM) -

Interesting to see that Clevo is using Hynix memory for the 7970M
BTW, that red board is the card AMD didn't release that used a Cypress (Desktop 58xx) core. Could have been a Radeon 5970M? -
can't be more happy
-
What is the slot at right of the GPU ?
BR -
Larry@LPC-Digital Company Representative
Do you mean the CrossfireX plugin?
_ -
Thank you for ansuwer.
the red board not have this, at less, I not see it in their picture.

There are more pics that I posted a few days ago below....
-
Yeah, I don't like that business tactic at all. If I wanted last year's card, I would have bought it last year!
-
Wait wait, if 3D is coming out in the summer... I'm assuming so are 120hz monitors..?
Ugh... Dammit -
Well, here's my 2 cents: the only 2 things that would make the 680m competent are if it's priced significantly ($100) below the 7970m, or if it has a TDP of 75w, so it could go in things like the P151EM1. As so many shaders are locked down, I think there will certainly be a 685m coming eventually, too, but there's no way it will be here before AMD has a 7990m ready and waiting to counter it. It's sort of a fail that so many shaders are disabled, though, because their quantity was supposed to be kepler's selling point. No shader count boost+no hot clocks won't work so well...
-
If you don't mind me asking, how can you tell? I heard a lot of good things about their memory (mainly that it OCs well). I don't know where to look for their name... Or is it a design thing you can see?
-
There's no chance nvidia wasn't trying to make a 100w tdp part.
I think they tried and it didn't work out, some quality or production problem so they stuff this thing in there as a holdover until they can work it out...
Bummer in the short term but won't mean anything in 6 months. -
Why are there gaps between the chip and the surrounding .. ?
-
That is good news. But I was hoping more like early summer.
Thing is, it's fine for me to wait, but my friends have been bugging me for some time to get ourselves new Clevo notebooks and they are all waiting on me since... December. So I don't know for how long can I convince them to wait... -
So get 7970M + Sony HMZ-T1 or SMD ST1080 for stereoscopic 3D
Both of those will rule over a 120Hz LCD. -
That's not a 3D laptop firstly. And secondly, they don't rule over the 120 Hz LCD.
