Hi there
I'm from England and decided to order a decent desktop replacement, The only place that sold a powerful laptop that I was looking for was Sager resellers.
Ordered a 9262 last year in October from ISTNC and paid promptly (Little under $3300).
Last thing I heard from them was when I decided to swop the SLI 7950 GTX for SLI 8800m GTX and that was 12th decemeber.
Couple weeks(9/1/08) ago I decided enough was enough and emailed for a refund since so I could order else where and get a laptop within my lifetime...
They have completely ignored all my attempts to contact themI've tryed AIM/MSN and loads of emails, Next step will be to ring them I guess which will cost me a arm and a leg since I'm all the way in the UK.
I'm not sure what the next step is really to get my money back.I payed via wire transfer and still have the receipt for that.
Can anyone help me please or/and offer me advise?

I do not hink u make the right decision my emailing 4 a refund. It would have been better if u just emailed them saying whats with the order status.

All I got back was "We have not received our shipment of D901C's w/ 8800GTX yet, but we expect them at any time. As soon as we receive confirmation we will contact you and proceed from there"
That was Jan 3 and still not heard nothing from them... -
I'm not quire sure what it is called in the UK or Europe but here in the States we have the Better Buisness Bureau where you can register a complaint, which is a very negative thing to have on a companies record...
I'm not quite sure but I think it might be FEDMA or Eurochambers.
However, keep in mind that you switched your order to SLI 8800's and I don't beleive that they have been released yet buy sager or clevo, last I read shipping wasn't going to start till mid Febuary. -

I've been in a lot of contact with them, about some problems with a build and payment. I've been told that SLI 8800gtx was a late feb arrival.
I've opted for just the one, and expecting my build to start tomorrow, as the last payment process should have been done.
I ordered mine in November, so yes. I am also not entirely sure, that its comming, but they sound sincere, when I've written to them. I'll let you know if i get any update. -

Still no reply from them.
Couple of hours ago I sent them an email that I'm very unhappy about the way they are treating me and warned that I will get the BBB involved if I dont get a reply to this email.
They really are taking the pi$$ now!I mean 1 of them signed onto AIM yesterday so within a min of him/her logging onto AIM I jumped at the chance and said "Hi, can you help me please" still no reply.....

Well they still didn't email me and ignored me on AIM yet again!
I contacted the Better Buisness Bureau a few hours ago.
What do you think my chances are of getting my hard earn money back? :-( -
AIM, stop doing that. Contact them via e-mail or phone, not instant messaging.

I've emailed them almost every day, I've been using instant messanger becuase they won't reply to my emails

You should call them. Or if you know someone in the states have them call them for you.

Calling is best. They usually can't hung up.

Having been trying to deal with ISTNC lately on a laptop I bought almost 2 yrs ago (that they've had for warranty work for oh, 4 1/2 months now and is FINALLY on it's way back to me...unfixed, long story), I can tell you that they are near to impossible to get ahold of. They let their phones go to voicemail and do not return calls. Don't always return emails etc. Even when you're dealing directly with the person in charge, getting ahold of them is near to impossible. Note that the company has changed names in the last year to Carolina Computing. I don't know what's gone on with them necessitating a name change, but I can honestly say that their service leaves A LOT to be desired.

Well still nothing=/
I sent ISTNC a very polite email asking if we could just sort this mess out about 5 days ago but what a surprise NO REPLY!
Going out today to speak to Trade and standards in my own country UK for some advise. -

I have been advised to speak to the Attorney General's office in North Carolina, and then follow up with the Better Business Bureau after that. Perhaps contacting the AG might help you? (as I understand you've already tried the BBB)

Hi Veggie, you could ask BBB to forward the complaint to the Arbitration Department and request Arbitration. I think in your case could be the right thing to do.

Got an email from BBB
"We still have not heard from the company. If they don't respond we
cannot offer arbitration."
Sent another email to the BBB asking what other options I have but its looking grim
Might pay to take a holiday to the US and collect the money in person! -
I hope somebody in the forum has another suggestion. Is there anybody who lives nearby and that could ask them personally about your refund?

Veggie, do a "whois" lookup on ISTNC and Carolina Computing (or whatever their name is now). Try contacting them via that information.

What about leveraging the power of this forum by suggesting those that read and agree with your situation to begin sending emails to the folks at ISTNC (use every listed email address) to inquire as to your situation. Emails should not be mean, but merely inquire as to why our forum brother (Veggie) is being treated so shabbily and ask them (ISTNC) to please resolve this situation in a timely manner. Let's see what juice this forum has. Just a thought.
