I am getting kinda tired of the heat and noise my Envy 173d makes so I am heading towards a 8170.

My question is if I order the blueray option what vendor provides the playback software needed?

I thank you for your reply's

I can say that all SAGER resellers here on the forum provides the Blu-ray and DVD software.

The factory at SAGER gives you this along with the drivers and utility software. :)

You can also use various free alternatives, such as Media Player Classic - Home Cinema. Highly recommend that program. It's very lightweight; no BS. Use the 64-bit (x64) version if possible.

Free players are great, but only for DVD's or media files. I don't know of any free Blu-Ray playback software out there. It's mostly a licensing issue because you have to pay to incorporate it into your software.
