Here's one on Ebay for $60

Easy enough.

Basically any will work. What you need to make sure is that it for a notebook 12.7 mm drive height, SATA connection, and tray load. The form factor is the same on them. You then take the original bezel off your current one and put in on the new one.

Well if that drive that you listed is slimline optical drive. if so, then with what hutsady says that wont work.
First, could I use this even though I have a tray load drive?
Amazon.com: Panasonic UJ240 6x Blu-ray Burner BD-RE/8x DVD±RW DL SATA Drive (Black): Electronics
Second, how do I do this bezel business and what is it?
Third, I would like a read/write bluray drive that is slimline optical if that is possible at all considering I have a tray load.
Thanks in advance -
is it impossible to fit a slot load on the 8130 ?

That drive looks like it should work fine. It's also a tray load, so I'm not sure what you're asking about it. As for the bezel, it's the bit of plastic that attaches to the front of the drive to match the system. If you cared about fit/aesthetics, you'd pull the old (matching) one from your current drive, and put it on the new drive. They tend to just clip on or are held on by a screw or two (depending on the model). Not all bezels fit on all models though, so that's a risk buying from a third party if you want it to match.
No, but you'd have to find one that fit the form factor. They tend to be a lot more expensive from what I've seen. -

That drive will work, they call it a slim line but its listed at 12.7mm
If you get a slot load you wont be able to put your original bezel on there so it wont match. -
Well I tried it, and it turns out that the blu ray drive bezel wont fit with the laptop because the drive does not go in all the way and so I do not know how to take the bezel off either. Any help?
-
It is a really annoying bezzle. Like has a hard clip on the left that wont come out. (on the original dvd drive sent with the laptop.) I got off the one of the bluray drive that came in.
-
You've probably already checked, but make sure you've removed all the screws if it's held on that way. Some bezels just snap on, and some are held by 1, 2, or 3 screws.
-
I did not see any screws around that region. Most of the bezel I could clip off, but the only way the leftmost clip will come off is if I break it so I put everything back in and my new bluray drive sits next to me.....
And I cannot find the bezel for this at all either.... -
Hey check your pm. We can help you
-
Gandalf, did you come up with a solution for your Blue-ray bezel problem?
-
Nope.... its sad
-
Check YOUR PM please.
-
I did.... we are discussing the issue but no solutions have come about.
-
Turns out that the drive had 2 fasteneres underneath the hard bezel point that had a very speciifc method of removing. I figured it out basically so please close thread. Thanks for everyone's help
-
So, you've got the Blue-ray burner installed now and all is well?
-
Look at that......see?
You figured it out. Now if u ever have to do it again will probably take u all of 30 seconds........
If I wanted to replace my optical drive with a bluray one
