I recently upgraded my screen because it was broken by my 2 year old son from a WXGA+ to a WUXGA. The vbios on my x800 is too old to support this screen. I have vbios version 8.17M.192.053. I need the last 3 digits to be a higher number. It takes about 2 seconds to save your bios to a file. To save the bios file you can use ATI Winflash found here...

I am unable to get support for any of the resellers because this is a second hand alienware laptop. The first person able to give me a working file, I will pay them via paypal $5 for there effort.

Can't you just download it from ATI website, or google it maybe?

The only update I find on Google is a dell system bios with the ATI bios embedded inside it. Since they seem to be encrypted I cant use them. ATI only offers a driver not the vbios.
