Hello everyone,
I own the P650SG, and the first indicator light (dGPU light) would always blink whenever I am not playing games. Browsing on the internet, watching videos, using Microsoft word, etc., it would always blink. Is it supposed to be normal? Because I feel like the system is using the dGPU, and turning it on/off back and forth, I just want to know if it's okay. Thanks.

If you want to know for sure if your system is using the dGPU, just install GPU-Z and see if it gets turned on or not via GPU-Z monitoring. If it gets turned on, as long as you have adaptive performance mode (enabled by default, you most likely have this) for your dGPU, it's perfectly fine if it uses the dGPU most/all of the time.

I watched the GPU-Z monitor for the dGPU, it runs for like a very less amount of time, then it shuts down, then turns on again. How do I have I have adaptive performance mode enabled?

It's enabled by default so I wouldn't worry about it, especially if you don't know how to enable it, that means it's already enabled. Your system should be fine even if it runs the dGPU. -
I know, I am just worried a bit about battery life. I guess I will just leave it alone. Thanks.i_pk_pjers_i likes this.

Strange, the dGPU lights are no longer blinking anymore when I am not gaming. I have noticed a significant improvement on battery life as well. I guess the problem fixed itself.

Can you think of any changes you made to your system since the last time you saw the lights blinking like that? I'm curious as to what might have caused that to start then stop.

Nothing at all, other than reinstalling ethernet drivers and turning on/off the laptop, which is totally unrelated to the blinking lights issue... I might have tried going to the Nvidia Control Panel, but I don't remember changing any settings there.

I double checked our video review and it has that noted as being the turbo boost indicator, for the CPU. Run Prime95 to see if that makes it light up. Since that is CPU and not GPU intensive that would be a way to double check. The reviewer (me) could have been wrong about that light though.

I never run Prime 95, but I think I know the cause of it now... Whenever I am using MSI Afterburner, the dGPU light would blink. As soon as I exit that program, the dGPU light stops blinking.

That would make sense as Afterburner kicks on the dGPU.
