Please forgive me if there is already an owners lounge for the P151SM1, but I couldn't seem to find one anythere on here, or for that matter, information on the P151SM1 just about anywhere else on the internet.

I've been looking for a somewhat portable gaming laptop for a while now and this one from Xotic is quite enticing, it's got a 770m, is under 7 lbs, and has reasonable dimensions. However, I can't seem to find any reviews about the P151SM1 chassis, trackpad, screen, battery life, etc... In other words, I want to know if the paper statistics match up with the things that aren't listed. If all these things were good, this would probably be better than the Y510, even though its lighter and looks 'cooler', the 770M doesn't have to deal with micro stutters and SLI problems, and can turn off the GPU to save battery with Optimus.

Since it's so new, I doubt there are any reviews out yet, but to someone uninitiated, what were the problems with the previous version of this Clevo line? Is there any reason to avoid it like the plague like the Y500 had with its original trackpad?

It looks identical to the P150EM that I have. The only issues that I've noticed are the keyboard(which it looks like they've replace in the P151SM1) and the headphone audio output. I'm currently asking around to see if I can order the new keyboard and stick it in my P150EM. The headphone audio output is pretty lousy.

It is a new version of a the Clevo P151EM1 / Sager NP9130 . It is NOT like a P150EM as suggested in the second post ; this has one hard drive bay, no backlit keyboard, and uses a smaller 120 watt adapter. It is the lightest weight case I've seen for the 770M, hoping someone reviews it.

Send me a free sample of that Clevo line and I will not only open an owners lounge....I will also tatoo it on my chest and become your biggest fan (to whoever gives me the laptop) and we will be best friends forever (or until next year).

Oh, and hi jaybee, long time no see! :D

Especially since I wont be upgrading anything this year.
Next year I hope for sensible jumps in performance and clocks (but I doubt we would be getting 4.2ghz turbo boost any time soon) :D

EDIT: just let me know when u get the title, imma call u Dr. Jaybee :D sounds kinda cool
------> Or Professor Jay Doctor Bee! :D

    Hey Grim Tuesday

Given how recent the new lineup is, you probably won't find a lot of consumer reviews on it just yet. Maybe you could be one of the first to do one for us!

The Y series is pretty good. As far as previous Clevo "problems", they're rather case by case, rather than widespread. The systems are pretty robust, so I think you would content if you made it your choice of laptop.

And since it's Wednesday, cheer up! :p

What do you think the NP8230 would score on 3DMark11? The Y510p scored around P5200. I was wondering if the Sager NP8230 has the potential to match it or beat it.

Based on this, it should be almost exactly at that range (5210) but without having to worry about micro stutters and games that don't scale with SLI well. I might pull the trigger on this notebook and if I do, I'll definitely open up an owners lounge and when I get it, I'll fully benchmark and review it. If I choose to get it.

Has anyone confirmed battery life yet? Xoticpc states that it is 2+ hours. I tink optimus may add a couple hours.

Hard to say until we get benchmarks, but much of the new hardware has a lower TDP and Haswell has new power states I believe, so there should be a noticeable improvement. :)
