What file format is your wallpaper? .BMP should display without problem but I recall that old XP needed something else enabled in order to display .JPG.

PS: Does this mean you have sorted out the installation / driver problems raised in your other thread?

    I'm puzzled.

RIght click on desktop, select properties, select the Desktop Tab then select the background you want. The windows standard ones should be listed or you can browse for your own.

Make sure that you are not using a small bitmap set to centre - you might have a small image in the middle of your screen.

BTW, could you please finish the other thread with how you solved the problem. Useful for anyone else who hits the same problem in the future.

    John

    Thats strange.

You made sure that you have admin privileges?

(So.. ) In Display Settings, under Desktop tab, none of those pictures works?

It could be a user account config issue (happens occasionally).

Make a new user account and see if that new account can have wallpapers.

Now this may sound like a smart alick answer but my solution to any and all of my windows woes is always to reinstall. If during reinstall something dont go right. Simply reinstall again
my record for reinstalls in a single day is 6 so far on one machine :D
