    Hi,
I tried to find instructions for installing my HD into the optical bay drive on my NP8150, but couldn't find anything on the topic.

I managed to figure out how to put the harddrive into the caddy and figured out how to take out the CD Drive and replaced it with the HD. I am currently formatting the HD and my laptop seems to recognize it. Only issue is that I now have a dent in the side, because it is missing the outside piece. I am guessing I have to remove the outside of the CD drive and attach it to the caddy?

I have the CD drive from inside the laptop. I also have about 4 tiny screws left over, a long piece of plastic that looks it could possibly attach somewhere to the caddy, and metal ring thing that all came with the caddy package.

The caddy is right from XoticPC and came with my purchase.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks

yeah, you have to use the cover that was on the optical drive for it to look clean..

mine didn't use the ring thing, idk what that is..

4 tiny screw, idk where you took those out of..? on mine it was the one screw for the optical drive to slide out, and the plastic outer piece popped off. same with the "long piece of plastic". no idea. pic would help.

I used the stock dvd faceplate by poping it with 2 small flat screw drivers. It didnt fit the holes on my cheap($7.99) ODD correctly so I use gorilla glue to glue it on but I had to trim some plastic off... Looks nice afterwards been using it since. Gorilla glue tend to expand and foams. Careful of using glue or super glue you dont want to get it on the case... I took my stock DVD drive and put in external enclosure. So when I need to install something I can always use it as a usb power external. I guess I can take pictures this weekend..
