After joining the Windows Feedback program in Dec. I thought i missed the cut off point of applying for the free software by two hours.

So i was supprised to see a mailing from Microsoft with both copys (32 and 64 Bit) of Vista Ultimate setting on my desk when i got home this week. (Very cool)

So i want to try Vista 64 on the Clevo, My question is what drivers do i need to have on hand when i format and install Vista 64?

There will not be another PC avalable to me when i install it, As i will be down where i stay for work during the week.

I use a Sprint Merlin EX720 EVDO card for my internet connection, and i have downloaded the latest Sprint software for that and i will have it on hand when i do the install. Yes it will support 64 bit, I did check.

I don't have the laptop with me this weekend or i could check to see if RJ Tech included the 64 bit vista drivers in the package on a CD. They may have, but i ordered the Lappy with XP Pro. or if the drivers are current.

Is there a ISO or 64 bit driver package for download somewhere?

    Spec's are in my Sig.

Thanks for your help and experance in this matter.

I will make an list for you:

    Graphics card:

    Download from here: http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=18432

    or mod the .inf yourself:

    http://us.download.nvidia.com/Windows/175.12/175.12_geforce_winvista_64bit_english_beta.exe

Just extract it with WinRAR and add this to nv_disp.inf.

    Like this examples:

    Add this:
    Code:
    %NVIDIA_G84.DEV_0409.1% = nv_G8x, PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_0409
    [IMG]

    Add this:
    Code:
    NVIDIA_G84.DEV_0409.1  = "NVIDIA GeForce 8700M GT"
Run Setup.exe to install the driver.

    Thank You, All.

I just ordered 2 Seagate 5400.4 250 gig drives from the Egg to raid 0 when i install 64.

I downloaded all the suggested files and have unzipped them and burnt to CD to take with me.

I hope the raid setting in Vista is easier than XP was to set up. I had a time doing my desktop, It would not take the files for a time ........LOL.

I will have to check the Bios to be sure the raid option is On

I do love a challenge ......so i use Windows :)

    Thanks again

everything went well. Well allmost. :)

Raid 0 the drives was very easy, install was painless.

    54 updates from Windows update.

Drivers for everything went well. even the Sprint EVDO card.

I just can't seem to find the 64 bit drivers for the TV card?

I tried many drivers from Aver-media (but not all of them) http://www.aver.com/mpd/support/download/download.html

My problem is that i have no idea if it is an Aver-media card or not, and if so....what model it may be?

Any experance in this matter you may have had would be gratefully received

    Thx

Wow...No one knows what brand and models of tv tuner cards are used in the clevo D901C?

I had two choices when i had this bulit. One was Vista compatable, one was not.

    I chose the WinVista card.

Sager did not have a TV card driver on there web sight, and my included Vista Driver disk don't have one either.

anyone with a D901c and a installed TV card can look in device manager and get the answer i seek.

    I'm kinda stuck here ... :)

    Thx

I know this question is not as exciting as one about an 8800 GTX Video card, Or what pins to connect to overclock your Q6600.

I realy don't want to disasemble the laptop to find the TV card and hope the card has the model number on it.

    Someone must know the answer?

    Hi,

I have a winvista tv-tuner and it's called YUAN MPC788 MiniPCI Hybrid TV Tuner. (There's also one called MPC718 but i think that's the non vista tuner.)

This is what PCMW put in their computers. I guess if you want to be 100% sure you need to contact the place where you bought it from.. But i suspect that you already have :)

EDIT: Ah and to use it with Media center you'll need to install "Windows Media Encoder"

    Good luck

YUAN MPC788 Mini PCI Hybrid TV Tuner.

    We have a winner.

    Thank You for the info.

That was the last of the drivers i needed to finish the Vista 64 install.

    everything is now working.

Rep for you, and again my thanks.
