So I am having my Clevo W860CU and I could not be happier with it. I have Windows 7 x64 installed and was very happy. Unfortunately I started programming some stuff and it does not run under Windows 7 and I really need to install Windows XP x86. So I set everything up for a dualboot and was ready to install when I kept constantly getting the errors of missing SATA drivers. So I called the shop that sold me the Laptop and asked them for help. Apparently its impossible to install XP on my Clevo because there are no SATA drivers? Does that make any sense? I guess it does but I am not sure maybe you guys could help me out? Is there a way to install windows or run it from my Laptop? VMWare is not the solution...
What I was thinking about is installing XP on an external hdd from another pc, connect it to my clevo and then run normally a dualboot... or would my clevo still have problems with running XP?

I really hope you guys can help me out because people are waiting for my help and I can not help them with the program if I cant access Win XP.

    Thanks a bunch in advance!

Edit: Attached my dxdiag just in case

You should be able to slipstream the sata AHCI drivers into an xp install disc using nlite, or use a usb floppy drive with the f6 method.

These should be the drivers you need

    Hello,
I had a similar problem . It is possible to install the so called XP mode if you ahave a valid license of the Windows 7. It practically runs in the PC virtual machine, but MS provides some image ready for the XP. I already tested some devices that had only XP driers and they worked.

This is where you'll get your download of XP mode LINK. Seems you can install it for Starter (32 bit) and Home Premium, Professional, Enterprise, and Ultimate - all 32 and 64 bit versions.
