    1) Sager arrived, I opened it
    2) Plugged it in, turned it on
    3) Inserted Windows CD in
    4) Blue screen with "Windows Setup" on top

it should say something like press any key if you want to boot from the disc
and when you get to that blue screen, it should have options like f10 to install windows.

It sounds almost like it's having trouble reading the disk.

Is the windows CD old? perhaps scratched or dirty?
Or possibly a problem with the optical drive...
Once the install got going, did you have any other problems during install?
Get a bunch of CD's and DVD's and run/play them and see if they skip, stutter or freeze to test the optical drive once you've got windows up and running.

I just installed windows with RAID enabled in the BIOS, I integrated the SATA drivers into a new CD. Intel Matrix Storage, and stripped it down with nLite. HD performance actually went up a little.. Not night and day but its a slight noticeable difference, MAIN difference is in Windows Explorer file browsing. Anyways for my birthday I'm getting "Windows Vista Ultimate 64" from family. Should be interesting.
