Installing XP on to a SATA hard drive would require SATA drivers off of a cd or do you need a floppie drive?

I recently formatted my SATA hard drive and reinstalled Windows without any problems, and didn't do anything different than I normally would. I've heard of this before but so far I have only heard of HPs having to do that.
