I just recently ordered a np8690 without an OS. This might be a newbie question but... Will I be able to install my windows 7 ultimate student license on it? I figured out that it is an upgrade version (because it said pre-existing os upgrade required). So should I return it and get a full version of it? Or could just do a fresh install, would it work that way?

you can download a full windows 7 dvd from a torrent site. just use your key and you are not doing anything illegal. just make sure you select the correct version of your key ( i think is home premium)

I've installed windows 7 professional x64 on my M770cuh that didn't come with an os. If your is a upgrade, I think you usually have to provide just an old copy of a windows os like xp, etc before you can install the newer os.
