Hey everyone, after recently upgrading to windows 7, i was receiving an error saying "the default gateway is not available" After some research, i ended up solving the problem. That was all last night. Now after about an hour of great internet, i keep getting disconnected and lagging out in the games im trying to play. I am currently using a Sager Np 8662. Any help would be very appreciated. Also, i am a computer noob so if you can please try and make things as simple as you can :D

UGH the internet just went out and it said "the default gateway is not available" It fixes the problem, but only for about a minute. Does anyone have any ideas on how to get this to go away? I am really regretting going to windows 7 because i have had nothing but problems

I was having the same problem on a Dell Latitude E6400 with the intel 5300 wifi card. When the card was experiencing heavy traffic it would drop the connection and tell me the default gateway is not available. I found that going to the most recent vista drivers for the 5300 card solved the problem.

Go to the intel website and download the zip file with the vista drivers for the 5300. Then use device manager to uninstall the current drivers and install the vista ones.

Edit: Scratch that. Even with the vista drivers I get the dropped connections. It happens less frequently, but it still happens.
