Got a weird problem going. When I boot up, the 6230 radio is OFF. How do I make it stay on? Is there a switch I am missing? P170HM built by Mythlogic. Is there a hot button key to press? I know Fn + F12 toggles the BT, but nothing seems to toggle the 802.11.

    Try Fn + F11.

Also, check your bios. The Bluetooth for sure is default to off on boot unless you change the setting there. I think there's also an option for the Wifi, but usually at stock it's on by default.

Thanks for the ideas, will try them when I get home from work.

The Fn+F11 wasn't turning on the radio.

I don't think it issue related to the Mythlogic build and they have contacted me since I posted this. Kudos for that, wasn't expecting it. I also appreciate reps from Malibal offering help, shows how good of a community this is.

Bit more of the problem description:

It feels more like a driver issue. I've had the laptop for little over a month now, and it has worked beautifully. But about 1 week ago, the 802.11 radio would not be turned on after power up. Using the Win7 networking troubleshoot tool, the tool says the radio is off, it then turns on the radio and connects fine.

Shut down, and some issue happens. I poked around the device manager and looked at the radio settings. Windows reports device is working properly and enabled, yet the networking troubleshooting tool says the radio is off, only way to turn it on seems to be through the networking troubleshooting tool.

I updated the driver last night, but haven't restarted the machine since shutting down. I will later tonight and post back then.

The driver update appears to have fixed this issue. Restarted 3 times now with no sign of the issue. Thanks for the ideas all.
