Damn... I'm waiting on my Clevo M860TU and I noticed this in Rjtechs Q & A section. I was hoping to run Windows 7 RC 1 and utilize all 4GB.

Q: Can I use all 4GB if I install 2 pcs 2GB memory module in my notebook?

A: Due to chipset resource allocation, Intel 945 chipset based notebook can only use up to 2.8GB memory even you install the Vista x64 OS. AMD based notebook might have not this limitation, please check it's memory specs sheet.

the Clevo M860TU/ETU has a Intel PM45 chipset..... which can support up to 8GB of RAM.

you have mistakenly read the specs of the M860TU.

RJtech's F.A.Q. is an old one.

The Intel mobile 945 chipset (Napa platform) was for the first generation of Core Duo / Core 2 Duo notebooks..... back in 2007. And yes, it was limited to ~3GB of RAM.

At that time there was only one Clevo gaming notebook with the Napa platform, Clevo M570U.

In any case, you are recommended to use a 64-bit OS if you want to fully utilize memory over 3GBs.
