Intel MEI and 32-bit I/O BIOS Setting in M860TU and checking speed (MHz) of RAM

In the Clevo driver download website of the M860TU, there is an Intel MEI download there but when I run its installer, it says unsupported hardware. Why will Clevo put the Intel MEI download in the M860TU section if the M860TU don't have the hardware to support it?

And do you need to enable the 32-bit I/O BIOS setting of the hardware devices when you are Windows Vista x64 Ultimate?

Lastly, how will I know the speed (MHz) of my RAM installed? I ordered the DDR3 1333 MHz 2x2GB from PCMW but when I opened the back cover of the lappy all I can see in the labels of the RAM is:

    Crucial BP112Y1.MX
    CT256664BC1067.16SFD 2GB
    204-PIN SODIMM 256MX64
    DDR

The 1333 MHz feature is not obvious in those labels I guess. Is there a way to know if the RAM is really 1333 MHz? Thanks.

I believe the M860tu chipset only supports up to 1066 DDDR3. Cancel your order after you verify this.

And also, what is the Intel MEI driver used for? I didn't install it but I'm still curious as to what its for.

I already have the laptop with the DDR3 1333. I know about the chipset only supporting 1066 but I heard that you can overclock the system to support the 1333 ram. Is that straightforward to do? I don't have experience in overclocking.

I don't know about the MEI. All it says is that it is the management engine interface.

Looks like you have 1066MHz ram look here: CT256664BC 1067.16SFD 2GB Also if you look at CPUZ (free download) you should be able to look at the spd profiles and see if it has one for 1333MHz.

I suggest you call PCMW about this, as everyone I know in the initial launch of the m860tu received 1333mhz ram.

Yes I do. I initially questioned it because it had the marking PC3-10666, but this actually means 1333 mhz speed.

Oh really. How were you able to confirm that? You won't see it in CPU-Z because the Mobo supports only up to 1066 unless you overclock it. Is your RAM brand also Crucial?

I opened up the machine and it had that label on the memory. I can't remember the brand. I opened up the machine around the time I first got it to see what a fully upgradeable system looked like on the inside :)

Ah. How were you sure that the label PC-1066 meant a 1333 MHz RAM?

10666 meant 1333, 1066 (or 1067) means 1066. CPUZ should still show other possible spd states on the spd tab (my mobo only supports 677MHz ram, but the spd tab shows that the ram supports up to 800MHz)
