I am attempting to install the Combo BT Driver found on the Device Drivers/utility disk (optional drivers)

This starts the installation of Intel PROSet/Wireless Software for Bluetooth. It then fails with the following error:

Could not write value SupportDLL to key \SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\BTHPORT\Parameters\Radio Support. Verify that you have sufficient access to that key, or contact your support personnel.

    Any idea what is wrong?

Have you tried the latest set from the intel website and/or running it in administrator mode (right click the exe to do this and choose it).

All the other drivers I installed had no issues. I am not sure where the BT Combo file is on the CD in order to try to run it as administrator. I see a lot of BT folders. I launched the autorun.exe on the driver disk as administrator, but it made no difference.

You can download them directly from the Sager site.

Labeled as "Intel Centrino Wireless LAN (6300 / 6235) Drivers for Windows 7 32/64 BIT"

I am running Windows 8 Pro (using the windows 8 driver disk provided from Sager)

Here is what I installed from the Driver disk:

    WLAN Driver - successfully installed
Combo BT Driver - Fails - where is this driver on the Sager website? All I see is "Intel Centrino Wireless LAN Drivers for Windows 8 32/64 BIT," BUT I believe these are the WLAN Drivers which I already installed from disk.

Doesn't the driver package from the site come as a .zip folder with both drivers? If it comes to it, visit the component manufacturer's support page for the driver, or locate a file hosting site if necessary.

You are correct, they are, but if you're unable to locate them on the disk to run as admin and try what Meaker suggested, you can download them to a directory you do know, and run them as admin as he advised.

I called Sager technical support and they told me which folder the driver is launched from

    \Options\02WLAN\Intel\BT

I tried it with admin privileges and same issue. They said they would research the issue and contact me later.

In the mean time, I will try to find the drivers on the Intel website.

Thanks. I installed that, but it's the same as the WLAN Driver on the disk.

I was able to find the BT Combo Driver, but it still fails with the same error I posted above. I also ran the exe as admin.

    I ntel® PROSet/Wireless Bluetooth Software for Windows 8

Thanks for the help folks - hopefully Sager will get back to me about the error.

Just wanted to post an update. Sager said the issue was with Windows 8. Since I had recently received the laptop and installed Windows, I ended up starting over fresh. I formatted the drive, re-installed windows and applied all driver updates. The BT combo drivers installed just fine.
