I am trying to figure out how to get the Turbo Boost 2.0 to work with my Sager np9130 with 3rd Generation Intel® Ivy Bridge Core i7-3610QM (2.3GHz - 3.3GHz, 6MB Intel® Smart Cache).
I believe it is cable of it, but my computer only shows it operating at 2.30 GHz and no where close to 3.3. I have been trying to download the Intel® Turbo Boost Technology Monitor, but it seems the tool is offline for some reasons and I can't find an old file.
How do you enable this since we can't OverClock these any more?

try the drivers from your DVD

No turbo boost drivers from the cd provided.

Isn't it automatic, you don't force it.

It should be automatic. Try installing CPU-Z, open the program, and watch its window while do something CPU intensive (such as opening an internet browser, etc.). You should see the processor's reported idling speed of 2.3GHz momentarily jump to 3.3GHz while the CPU is working.

This is automatic with a clean install of windows 7? we don't need any sort of drivers?
-
Yes. A tool like HWInfo will conclusively show you your CPU turboboosting for a second on account of opening, say, Notepad.
-
go all out while checking and use Prime95
also, heres an alternative link to the current version of the Intel TB Monitor
drivers arent needed since the turbo boost features are both hardcoded into the CPU and controlled via the BIOS.
cheers -
Turbo Boost does not required drivers.

my bad, the turbo boost monitor gadget requires a startup entry that looked a lot like a driver. TuneUp recognized it wrong
