    Hi

I'm a new user here but not new to the world of laptops & pc's.

I just bought a brand new Rock 620 Extreme from Ebay and it came with 4GB turbo memory. Just wanted to know if anyone could tell me the benefits of Intel Turbo Memory?

Also, could anyone tell me if its possible to upgrade the MXM GPU in the Clevo M860 chassis?

    Cheers in advance

    Joe

Not sure about Turbo Memory, but the current best GPU would be a 9800M GTS or 9800M GT a.k.a. 8800M GTX.

Don't really think that'll happen anytime soon. Main problems would be the power and cooling. I think there are 2 threads already discussing this.

    First thread and second thread.

Check around the Sager and Clevo section as well.

A bit late, but welcome to NBR :D

Ahhh, I didn't look for a Clevo or Sager section

Thanks for the welcome :) I've been stalking the forums for a few months now and got a lot of good information here before making my purchase. It arrives tomorrow :D

    I'll post some benchmarks asap

The benefit of Turbo Memory is that the HDD has to be accessed less. Decreased startup times, faster application access, longer battery life, and less heat output. ITM takes some tweaking to get working right, but when it is optimized and functioning properly, makes a fair bit of difference.

What do you mean by 'some tweaking'? Using the User Pinning dashboard or other tweaking?

Using User Pinning correctly, making sure you have the very latest drivers, thats about it.
