Looks like win7 7077 x64 finally allows TM2 to install and function properly. Welcome back TM! Caching apps now with no problems or complications.
Download the latest CD version of TM2 from intel here:
http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Product_Filter.aspx?ProductID=2813&lang=eng
Right click on the exe and Troubleshoot Compatibilty. Select ran in a previous version of windows, and select Vista SP2. Should install great.

I've also tried it about 2 weeks ago and the result was the same as with build 7057. The computer soon freezes with Intel turbo memory enabled.
I've also installed in Vista compatibility mode. -
Seems to be running great for me so far. No errors. Restarted a few times. Launched apps. No freezing. I forgot how much I really like TM.
-
Maybe it works differently on yours, cause it's 4 GB and you can pin applications down. I have just 2 GB and maybe it blocks when it tries to do that automatically.
-
It's great news, thanks! I like win7 a lot, but will wait for RC (in a few days?) before installing it on Sager.

greetings flode -
Wow these drivers actually work on my laptop and also user pining is now enabled even if I have a 2GB memory. NICE!
-
since i updated to 1.9 i cant active ready boost in console anymore only readydrive is working the ready boost field is greyed out!!!
pls help wanna use them both
greetings flode -
-
im using windows vista so i dont know doesnt seem to be an os problem.
any yes i have windows pagefile.sys activated.. come on guys and tips how to get ready boost and ready drive activated -
is the turbo memory dashboard new`? i realy like how you can select and speedup the programms you like also working with different profiles.
if now only ready boost could work too...
but maybe you have to choose bewteen ready boost and ready drive in the new driver.. but there is nowhere a setting like this
pls report here your experience with the new 1.9 turbo memory driver thanks
and dont forget to tell me if your readyboost is also greyd out
greetings flode -
My readyboost is also greyed out. And for me the new dashboard is also a new thing. Although I like the readyboost as well, reduced boot time by a few seconds.
Sure a few seconds don't matter, but when you keep restarting your laptop all the time they really come in handy. -
Turbo Memory's ReadyBoost and User Pinning functions do not work together. In pre 1.9 drivers, 2GB driversets installed without UP enabled by default. All 4GB modules installed UP. Since UP And Readyboost are somewhat similar in their core operations, they cannot function together. This has been this way since TM2 was first released; not OS related at all.
If you want Readyboost, you'll have to disable User Pinning. Or you can do it like me and run an eeePC edition 8GB SDHC card in the SD slot and make it run ReadyBoost. Win7 will use at least 16GB in readyboost. -
what exactly do you mean with user pinning? before 1.9 ready boost & ready drive worked together very well now with the new dashboard they dont...
im confussed.
well of course i do also prefer faster computer then 5 seconds faster booting xD ;-)
so it allright i was just wondering
greetings flode
edit: ok forgewt the question about user pinning i googled that. pls tell me how to disable user pinng to get normal readydrive & radyboost activated again thank you -
if i disable ready drive i still cannot activate ready boost... i cant find an option to disable user pinng anywhere sorry.. ;(
-
Not sure how to disable it. Intel realizes UP is more efficient than readyboost, so by default, its enabled. 512MB of your TM module is dedicated to readydrive, so you are still getting your startup and hdd controller advantages.
-
ok thank you
i think im gonna get a fast sdhc card and enable readyboost like you do its a great idea you know so thanks for the tips
greetings flode -
NP. Get the fasted SDHC card you can get. 8GB is fine, but you can go with 16GB if you are crazy and want to spend the extra $$$. They are getting really cheap these days.

I am thinking of getting one as well but I can't figure out how it can speed things up.
A normal high speed SDHC has 6 Mb/s, I think my HDD is at least 10 times faster. The Extreme versions is 20Mb/s but still.
Will I really benefit form 16 GB or 8 GB is enough. -
Get an SDHC card that is at least 18MBps. Sandisk Extreme III is 30MBps
The advantage is found when reading small files, where 0 latency flash media excels. eg, my HDD reads 4kbps files at 600kbps. Extremely slow. A vast majority of files that Readyboost caches range from a few bytes to half megabytes. For the HDD to hit 100 4kbps files @ 5ms seek times, your looking at a minimum half second just for the heads to move to the file location. Flash media - instant access.
The advantage of Readyboost isn't huge. Just means faster small file access, reduced load times, and longer battery life. -
Nice. For the price a SDHC is going at seems like a decent feature to add to my lappy.
I've read on the internet that readyboost only uses up to 4 GB? Why would I get 8GB then ?
Edit: The Sandisk extreme III goes at 20MB/s. -
Windows Vista uses up to 4GB. I've confirmed Win7 to use up to 16GB. Vista SP2 should bring higher RB caps compared to earlier editions, along with the ability to function in exFAT mode.
Newegg claims SanDisk Extreme III at up to 30MBps
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820171377
under specifications. -
Alright, thnx. The 16 GB is about 80 euros and it way to expensive for what it does. I will stick to a 8 GB extreme. Also there is now the extreme IV (40/45MB/s) but it also runs pretty expensive.
Yes, I guess you are right, the Extreme III it's 30MB/s. I've read somewhere that it's just 20MB/s.
Thanx. -
i tried a 1 gb usb stick with ready boost i realy dont see any difference but maybe its just a too slow stick... im still undecided wether getting the 8 gb extrem 3 for 50 bucks or sh it on ready boost...
greetings flode -
I bought myself a 8 gb extreme from ebay for 25 euro - 35 USD . Hopefully I will see some difference, if the readyboost does what emike says it does, then there should be a difference, not a big one, but should be.
