    Hi Guys,

As per the title, every time I try and run Intel XTU it just freezes at the startup splash screen, i have tried installing previous versions as well. After reboot, before rebooting, it doesn't matter.

Does this have anything to do with the Bios? as i have updated to EC 06 and also Bios Version 06 as per the clevo Bios Thread. Will updating to Bios version 07 help?

Will i have to reformat for XTU to work or am i missing something?

Has anyone else had the same experience as me?

Any help is appreciated, thank you.

    [SOLUTION FOUND]

After months of research and refusing to do a clean install of Windows - I found a solution to my problems!

Step 1) Uninstall Intel XTU and restart

Step 2) Download SQL Server Compact 3.5 SP2

    Step 3) Install SQL Server Compact 3.5 SP2 (both 32bit and 64bit installers on a 64bit PC)

Step 4) Restart PC once again.

Step 5) Install the latest Intel XTU

    And you're good to go!

I had that problem too, but it was fine with a fresh install of 7. It has something to do with the drivers/software supplied if all of them are installed (I think it may be the Intel storage drivers, but don't quote me on this).

Do you have Extreme Processor i7-3920XM? Intel recommend Mobile Extreme processor for Intel XTU.

Intel XTU will freeze with other i7 mobile processor.

The HM77 Chipset allows a limited increase in the multi; x4 i believe for the 3720 and 3829 quad mobile processors.

In addition to this it allows you to change your turbo clock to stay on longer. This probably gives you just as much performance boost so don't overlook it!

It should never freeze, the chip and bios should simply determine what options are unlocked.

Haha, you're welcome, glad to hear you got your XTU working now, this problem was really getting me frustrated for while, I just kept reading around forums and I found some other kind of related issues where downloading the SQL fixed it and I tried it myself and it just made it work, finally.
