    I can't find a way to get the Intel Turbo memory console back, after updating the matrix storage manager to 8.7. It seems everyone who has an update for the turbo memory module packages it with an older version of the storage manager. Is it just like that or is there a seperate update driver for the turbo memory?

    So right now I'm unable to use the Turbo memory.

    sorry tony i need to correct you:

    Intel Turbo Memory always includes a version of Intel Matrix Storage Manager its a package.

    now what happend to alansdom is he installed new matrix driver and the turbo memory is gone. that is normal.

    if you wanna use turbo memory you need to use the matrix version which is included in the memory packge

    you have to deal with it i think..

    any reason you wanna update alansdom?

    greetings flode

    Yeah I've noticed that there's two seperate drivers. But when you go to install the Intel Turbo Memory driver it tells you that you're about to install both the turbo memory driver and the matrix driver.

    I've noticed this when I reread the Readme for the turbo memory driver:
    "5.1 3) The installer will over install any version of the Intel(R) Matrix
    Storage Manager previously installed on the system, as each release
    of Intel(R) Turbo Memory is validated with a specific version of the
    Intel Matrix Storage Manager."

    And it came with matrix driver 8.5. Sager site also does the same thing. It's just that my Turbo memory dashboard panel is gone, after updating the matrix driver.

    @ flode
    Yeah I agree with you. I was thinking that if I reinstalled the turbo memory driver the turbo memory dashboard would come back. So I guess it won't. Looks like I'll have to wait for the next turbo memory driver.

    I had the same problem. When updating the driver, the dashboard is gone.
    I just went back to the old driver and the problem fixed itself.

    @TonyZ:
    so if we install both of them seperately, you will have the latest turbo memory driver AND still have the dashboard?

    @Tankbuster
    I've found out that it's like having one or the other right now. You can install them seperately, but when you install the turbo memory driver you get an older version of matrix driver.

    And it looks like you'll have the dashboard if you settle for the memory driver w/ the older matrix driver. I personally want my hard drive to be as cool as poosible, because it looked like it crashed a few times after loading levels in a game.

    i had the same problems and even loading new drivers didnt work.

    i came up with a simple solution that will sort it out forever and never cause another problem again.

    i ripped the card out.
    no turbo memory = no problems

    haha. I just want the turbo memory because it speeds up booting, and hopefully will be useful for some other applications.

    I was told that downloading the latest drivers from the net (I'd recommend those suggest at powernotebooks.com) and installing that fresh should solve any problems occurred by turbo memory.

    It's the same.

    edit: I think if you have turbo memory you're supposed to use the drivers for that, because it comes with matrix drivers. It's just the matrix driver is newer right now.
