    7970M > 680M
    Especially with the price difference.

But honestly, I'm not sure why it's so low in that list. It is usually RIGHT next to the 7970M.

GpGpu and OpenCl is seriously crippled in Kepler cards, it's a known fact.
7970m is about 50-75% faster than any Kepler card of his segment.
Same goes for fermi cards, they smoke Kepler in these scores.
    So it's legit, a gtx 570 performs better than a 680/690.
But when it comes to games the difference is quite substantial.

Lol, that's ok because the number of OpenCL programs I have is equal to the number of unicorns I have. :p

Not a matter of games, it´s mostly a matter of using your hardware to the fullest. There´s a lot of software coming up with support for OpenCL.

    Adobe CS6
    Roxio CD Creator
    SiSoft Sandra
    Final Cut Pro X
    Motion 5
    Compressor 4
    Indigo
    Lux
    SONY Vegas
    vReveal
    Magix Movie Edit
    Adobe Premier Pro
    some Maya plugins
    ArcSoft Totalmedia
    V-Ray

The list goes on... OpenCL got a lot more potential in my opinion, ivy bridge systems got full support from all the gpus/cpu, you got both AMD/Intel working on developing it and they won´t take long to catch up with Nvidia Cuda development stage, which is the only advantage NVIDIA got, CUDA is way more mature and got a lot more resources for developers.

It's probably a butt hurt AMD/ATI fanboy that wants to get back at nvidia because his enduro infested horror 7970m issue problem not workin 100% gpu utilization, and the only way he can troll and retaliate back at nvidia is to show programs or softwares that 7970m beats gtx 680m and the regular/common gamers does not even use or care about.

Well i own both 7970M and GTX680, well... let me explain, i work for a CLEVO reseller... and they allow me to use any hardware, better put, they demand me to do so, that way i can test it. So i´m really not taking sides.
I work with a P151 with 7970M and i play with a P170 with GTX 680. I like both units to be honest, heck i like both cards.
So don´t take me wrong, i like games and all, but i don´t game like i used to, and i do use a lot of that software, i do all the webdesign of our company. I don´t know why you find my comment "ATI Fanboy", but well, it´s ok, guess this is not the thread to talk about OpenCL a technology that i find refreshing and exciting.

At my clocks it's no competition, seriously none at all and I have used both. Much like a desktop 7870 overclocked is not going to match the 670 overclocked.

It's not bad in the slightest, it's still an amazing card, but when you unleash it properly the 680M is king.

We know they are pretty even at stock and then the 680M goes an overclocks 50%.

So until the 7970M is able to maintain around 1.25ghz core speeds it is going to lag behind.

well I tried using sony vegas and my 7970m didnt even work properly, utilization was terrible, plus i only saved 10 mins when rendering a 12min 1080p video with the 7970 opposed to just using the cpu, also rendering a mp4 video didnt even work with the 7970, but thats not the point here

Well basically that´s it, you need to get the 180W Psu, same as P150EM, and any BIOS above the first one that was used when the laptop was released in to the market.

I just ran passmark and only got 1996 3d performance. Overall was 3050. Not sure which one they're referring to in that chart.
