    Hi,

A few times since I got my 5793, after it goes to screen saver and then the monitor turns off, I can't seem to get it back on. Using the mouse and keyboard do nothing. I can hear sound, but can't see anything.

I just hit the power button for a hard reboot and then upon logging back on, I get the message that Windows recovered from a serious error. The event log has a system error message in it too. Any idea if this sounds driver related or is it maybe hardware related? Please let me know if you need any other info.

    Thanks!

If you can get more info from the vent logger,it would be helpful.

The first error is from when I had the monitor issue. That 2nd error happened late at night so I don't remember if I even saw any issues with my pc. Looks like a nasty event, though and I'm not sure what to make of it. Thanks for having a look and please let me know if you need other info.

If I do close/sleep, it wakes up just fine.

My problem is when the monitor turns off with the lid open and machine still on. Then I can't always get the monitor back on no matter what I try.

Might be a long shot, but you might have to check your RAM...
Also , might be the BIOS..

If I remember correctly, had the same issue with XP once in a while.
Placed my comp to sleep or hibernate for the night, and would wake into a blank in the morning...never fixed that.
