Hey, I want to buy a new gaming laptop. I have considered Alienware, Toshiba, MSI and ASUS thus far. I have never heard of "Clevo" before. I was surprised by the prices of their resellers, but didn't know very much about them. Are they reliable?

Clevo is an ODM, they design and manufacture the laptop. In most companies that you know of, they take the chassis of the laptop from a different side company. For example, Alienware used to get a lot of it's models made by Arima. Clevo is such a company as Arima. They sell their laptops to OEM's, who then distribute the models to different re sellers. The chain of ODM to OEM to reseller gives a streamlined purchase experience for the consumer, who goes through the reseller for any support. As you can see from various threads on NBR, there are a number of resellers who are highly rated for their service and support. A good thread to look at for more information is the Clevo FAQ sticky. http://forum.notebookreview.com/sag...-0-faq-reseller-info-read-before-posting.html

Clevo is OEM brand for Sager, sharing the similar design and builds.
I've own barebone Clevo notebook and it serves me well even abused 24/7 -
Hmm, thanks for that response Mr.Malibal. I was browsing your website and noticed that you have two laptops that look the same, but one is far more expensive. Why is that?

wait... so clevo is OEM or ODM?

Mike, if you're referring to the 15.6" models then both packs the same GPU (GTX 560m), but the less expensive (P151PM) comes with the 120W PSU, which can only accommodate the GTX 560m . Whereas the other one (P150PM) comes with a 180W PSU, which you can upgrade to better performance GPU (ATI 6990m or GTX 580m).
You can also upgrade the GPU with the P151PM, but you will need to buy a 180W PSU as well.
Other than that, the P150PM is already packed with a i7 quad ( i7-2630QM, 6MB L3 Cache, 2.0-2.9GHz ). P151PM comes with i5 dual ( i5-2410M, 3MB L3 Cache, 2.3-2.9GHz ).
That's all -
