I ask you this as i ordered and paid for a laptop the 15th of november.
I've tried to stay in contact with them trough the process.
First message i got before my business trip in december was, that the first one they tested had some problems. Thats cool, and she is informed me that there was a new model comming soon. I thought, yeah. lets wait. And we all know how long that took.
So the whole of December went with testing the 8700m graphics card on the new model. The 20th of january they informed me, no. This wont work. They will have to stick a 8800gtx in. They informed me that they were waiting for an answer from Clevo about payment. I never choose or was presented the option that they might have to increase the price on the laptop because i wanted to wait. I was told the new model would not cost me anything.
Not the last 5 days I've been unable to reach them on phone or email. No answer what so ever.

    Am I being screwed?

I live in Ireland. Was informed that Sager and Xotic was only US.
Paid via. Iban number and all. Money is in there account.
Would like to know if anybody else has bought from them or experiencing any problems like me?

    XoticPC has international warranty.

But if you were in Europe, there are many great vendors there:
    (UK)
    (France)
    (NL)
    (Germany)
    (Sweden)

If you want to get it cheaper*, here are the US sites (with international support):

*you have to figure out the import taxes though.

Woah... you have to always pay with a credit card when you buy online... because you can always call them and cancel the transaction.. and they take care of the rest...

Doesn't matter anyway. Right now ISTNC has the best prices for barebones and it only offers 8800M GTX on Clevos.

Yeah, I was considering ISTNC but now this has happened I think I will stick with Xotic or AVADirect.

I like their pricing, but like PCTorque's pricing a lot better. I don't like that XoticPC doesn't want to use other international shipping options (like DHL/FedEx) and want to charge people 223$ for a 150$ price (Eurocom, RJ Tech charge 150$).

I'm not. What matter is that I have to pay VAT for the laptop and shipping and this 223$ option is a deal breaker to me.

At some point great deals dont cut it. Its not worth it for me to save a few hundred bucks, to deal with these kinds of risks/hassles.

I have never heard of a service with no customer protection of some sort or another, so if they are pulling this on you I would consider reversing the transaction and looking elsewhere, at a more reliable company.

Consider the fact that the 8700M is no longer carried by Sager (from which probably ISTNC gets the barebones) in the 9262.
