    Hello everyone,
I have a Clevo M570A (Sager 5720) and I configured it with the Intel PRO Wireless 2915 a/b/g
I have been very disappointed with the power of the card itself and how lame the Intel PRO Wireless connection software is

Now I am thinking of getting an Atheros Wireless now and have a PCMIA slot but I would like to see if I can remove my 2915 and use that slot (MiniPCI) for Wireless instead...

The M570A has the Intel 915PM Motherboard and I think the wireless maybe be built-in but I am not sure and I am hesitant to take it apart due to it still being under warranty and I would prefer not to void the warranty

If you have any info. on this please reply!
    Thanks In Advance,
    -TBird

Its because its A/B/G. That notebook setup for cards is terrible with Wireless G routers and B routers (I havent tried it on an A).

I always got terrible signals as well. Make sure your new card doesnt have the A part unless you have an A router (do they even exist?)

I cant help you with your actual problem, but thats my 2c on wireless cards :p

    Hello TBird

If you want to take out the built in Wireless all you need to do is open up the back panel (big panel on back of laptop) and the wireless card is on a mini pci slot. It has two metal retention clips on the sides that you need to pull out on the sides and pull the card out. You will also see a black or white antenna plugged into the card. (Thin wire) To take the wire off of the card, just give it a light pull and it will snap off. It would be good to wrap the exposed antenna end with a piece of electrical tape to prevent it making contact with something in the laptop.

    Hope this helps....
