The best at what? :) Clevo P151HM is a good machine. You could also get MSI Force 16F2 for approximately same money with a better GPU.

it really does depend on what you want to do. It could be the perfect machine for you but could disappoint you or be way to much. Can you let us know what you want to do with your new computer.

Best for gaming? Get a MSI 16F2 which has way better performance/price.

Holy crap, never heard of that MSI before but just put together my own build similar to the Clevo P151HM1 that I've been wanting. The Clevo would cost me $1100 while the MSI will run $100-$150 more but have a GTX 570M in it instead of the 560M.

But then you spend another $100-$150 and you could prob get an 8150 w/6990m....after discounts.....this could go on and on. I would suggest buy what you need and what fits with in your budget.

Doesn't the P151hm have better cooling method than the MSI?

The MSI 16F2 has 2 vents but only one fan for both GPU and CPU, while P151hm has 2 fans + 2 vents separated for CPU and GPU.

For me I would pay a little more to have the premium cooling method :D. Plus the p151hm has a plain "business" look, love it!

I have a 16F2 with a 580M. While overclocked, and benchmarking or stress testing, it gets no hotter than 82°C. So I think the cooling is pretty good.

However, the 16F2 lacks a convenient hotkey combination to max out the fans. It also lacks the "cooler boost" function that comes with the branded MSI's.

MSI advantage = slightly ( or more ) faster GPU

Clevo 151 advantage = much better looking ( matter of opinion ), Firewire if it matters to you ( it was a must for me ). I actually got 150, but it's esentially the same machine. 151 lacks a fingerprint reader, no rubberized finish and a less powerful power supply which only matters if you want to upgrade the GPU ( I doubt many people do that ).

I think 151 with its darker color looks a little better than 150.

Well lets add some MSI advantages to that list:
    -Matte screen by default
-Ability to have HDD + SSD without sacrificing Optical Drive
    -Better speakers by far

The P151HM also comes with a matte screen by default I believe.

Ah my bad, looks like the line ups got changed up recently. I think that either one would cost around $1200 with a good setup:

    -i7 Quad
    -750GB 7200 RPM HDD
    -Intel Advanced 6230 Wireless
    -IC Diamond thermal paste
    -Windows 7

Obviously the cost of either could be brought down to $1100 by applying the paste yourself, sticking with stock wireless card and getting cheaper HDD options. The big difference for me would be the better GPU on MSI Force and an ability to upgrade to SSD later on. Force would have 2630QM processor instead of 2670QM, which is a negligible difference in my opinion. So although I have a Sager myself and support Clevo models, I think that Force beats it at $1100-1200 price range and starts to lose at $1400.

If I had a budget of $1,100, I wouldve gone for the MSI. Also called Powerpro 11:36 at powernotebooks.com.

Dynaudio speakers, 720p webcam, 570m stock.

The only thing that threw me off was the exterior cosmetics of the chasis, but I did almost buy it.

Some tips I learned while researching it:
    - You should double-sided tape the keyboard to the chasis to improve its feel. It tends to "flex" in a bit.

That's only an advantage if it the 95% gamut matte, otherwise it's a disadvantage. I ordered a 95% matte on my 150hm, but the glossy stock screen I saw on 151HM in a store looked great, very bright, high contrast and I'd say at least 72% gamut. It was much nicer than 17" screens they had on 170HM and much nicer than any of my older laptops. Only 95% matte beats it, other matte screens look worse than this glossy.

Anyway, I didn't list screens for either one because it looks like you can choose what you want on both models, so it's not relevant.

looks like it does have the exact same 95% gamut screen like the one offered on clevos http://www.notebookcheck.net/Review-Schenker-XMG-P511-Notebook.66654.0.html
