I'm ordering a sager 2090 from PCtorque, and i live in canada, so i'm trying to shave off everything i won't need. Is a spare battery worth the $120? or should i get one down the road? Are they like Rechargables, where you can just pop them in when the other one runs down, and recharge the other?
Sorry if its a dumb question, i'm new to the laptop arena.

You have to power off the machine before swapping. I think it's worth it, especially on a power-hungry machine like the 2090.

Yup, no way u can switch unless u have a plug in adapter for ur car, but then again you wouldnt need the spare
..

Personally I wouldn't buy another 9-Cell until the one that'll come with my 2090 wears out in a couple years, since I'm not going to do extremely long unplugged sessions, but I guess on a travel situation like a plane or a car trip, then the extra battery has its obvious benefits.

Unless you'll be traveling a lot or going mobile with your laptop, i don't think a spare 9 cell battery will be needed. Good for those road warriors that won't be near a power source for hours and don't want to stop working because they ran out of battery power. But if your just a regular home user who brings the laptop around places, the stock battery will yield enough power for you.
Is getting a spare 9-cell pack worth it?
