I was going to replace my Hard Drive and then when I took it out I noticed the connectors were off from the one I received. I figured it that it would fit if I position it the opposite way than it would fit but then it won't fit and even if it did it would be sticking out of my Laptop. They are both Seagate's so that can't be the problem I am guessing.

You can pull the the adapter off of the SATA connector.
The connector looks like this:
Anything extra is removable. -
I can just pull it off or do I have to unscrew something?
-
Once removed from the laptop; you can just pull the black part off, and unscrew the metal part from the HDD.

Oh I see what you mean now that piece comes off. I thought it was stuck in there. Swore last time I tried to take it off it felt screwed on.

Is it me or is the Hard Drive different on the NP8662
