Is it possible to put CCFL LCD inside a Clevo P150?

So here John is again with his silly questions, can you put CCFL inside a Clevo P150?
Now before some of you gets the dagger and goes on a hunt for me, there is a valid reason why I ask such a silly question, and it has to do with blue lights, we all know CCFL emits very little bluelight compared to LED.

And I do have some issues with sitting too long with my eyes glued to my Clevo and it is affecting my sleep, I have no such issue with my Plasma TV and have never had such issues with my previous laptops which were all CCFL.

If it is completely impossible to do so, is there maybe something better out there maybe a different type of LED screen that might be more suitable for me?

The Clevo P150 came out in 2012, really the age when everyone completely dropped CCFL in favour of LED for lower power consumption.
But maybe there was an early variant of the P150 that had a CCFL monitor?

And yes I do know of all the multitude of programs that makes your screen look like an orange I am really not interested in that and I do know of those glasses that make you look completely ridicules and the good ones cost as much as a new monitor anyway so I might as well just buy the monitor.

Anyone have had any experience with this at all for those of you who really care about blue lights and screen performance etc?

 

Hoenstly, I just use Flux. Sometimes the simplest solution is the right one. I leave my Flux on all the time that way my eyes have adjusted to it, and it's easier on my eyes during the day and at night.

 

I hope someone has an answer for you. I am sorry that I do not know if a CCFL screen in available for your machine.

Is this affecting your sleep when the laptop is turned off and/or in another room, or are you trying to sleep with the laptop screen turned on in your bedroom? If the later is true and it needs to be left running while you sleep perhaps you could set the power profile to "do nothing" with the lid closed and then just close the lid.

 

I haven't seen Clevo offer any CCFL screens before, nor a lot of other companies really advertise them. Just doing a quick search, it looks like most of the panels available are less than 1920x1080 resolution. Then you would need to find one that would fit in the frame, you could line up the screw holes, have the right connection (or get an adapter). Could be possible, but might just involve a good amount of research to what works in the computer and what is available for panels.

 

Yeah after some extensive research it appears almost impossible without having to solder and do some hacks to get CCFL screen to work not to mention I need another power source for the inverter.
Perhaps I should just wait for the Samsung 15 inch laptop OLED displays coming in 2017, problem is I use my laptop for work and home use and it takes up a couple of hours of my day and being exposed to blue light over such a long period of time can make your eyes more tiring but will mix up your sleeping rhythm.
There is very little info from going LED to CCFL I thought maybe someone knew something like a converter cable like there exist with CCFL to LED

 

Yeah, usually screen replacements can be tricky.

It might be worth trying Flux (or something similar) or glasses in the meantime, if it is getting to the point where it is messing with your sleep habits.

 

Don't bother, it's not worth the effort or expense to try to install it internally. Get a monitor, or if you're not wanting to spend that kind of money, get a cable and connect it to your plasma and use that as a monitor since you're already used to that screen.
