    So, Clevo has this stupid habit of making the keys that you would actually use a lot needing to depress the FN key to activate. I change volume and screen brightness far more than I us the Fx keys. Sorry, I'll stop ranting.

    Does anyone have any ideas on how to make it so the Fx keys are activated by depressing the FN key and the other keys are activated simply by pressing them without the FN key?

    @Prema?

    AutoHotKey works wonders.

    Right, the only problem is that if someone isn't familiar with scripting, it isn't going to happen. I'm a software developer but I don't want to spend the time to develop the scripts to reverse the Fx keys and the FN keys. If autohotkey had a simple GUI to do that then I would be interested.

    FN key is a low level hardware key...there is no way to access it via any software or driver as it is controlled directly by the EC itself...

    We offer swap FN / Windows key on our P-series laptops (in the BIOS), but the W series laptops don't have such a feature.

    Is it possible then to modify the EC firmware? I'm running PremaMod currently.

    This is one of those things that users have been complaining about for a long time. You'd think Clevo would listen and just make this an across the board BIOS customizable thing. It seems they decided to offer it in some models but not others.
