    Hi there,

I hope this is the right section. I thought you clevo owners would know the times better. I saw this Sager 9262 on ebay. Is it worth the price?. My main purpose is gaming and to use it as my main computer. It has no SLI. It has the Q6600. The highest processor supported is Xeon X3770, right? The seller has the option to make offers. How much should I offer him? He is asking $1250.

Am I buying old technology with this laptop? I know that technology moves really fast, So does this laptop have any resale value down the line?

    Thank you

Welcome to the NBR forums. :)

thats a very decent deal since you can upgrade it yourself:
    - add another 8800M GTX to get SLI
    - switch the CPU (up to Q9650)
    - add/switch the HDDs (up to three 640GB drives)

the D901C (aka. Sager 9262) is still one of the most powerful notebooks around since the desktop CPU and SLI capability gives the system better longevity.

Thanks for the reply. So, its time to finally own a clevo! I'm a compulsive laptop switcher. I seem to change laptops every few months. I know this is a very capable laptop. I was just worried about its resale value. 8800M GTX is not cheap and seem to be hard to find. I was just concerned that after funding the updates, I might hit a big loss if I try to sell it in a few months. People are very brand conscious.

There is also the price, another 8800M GTX and maybe a Q9650 and we are close to the price of a brand new D900F!

I know switching laptops often is a bad habit. Maybe this clevo is one to keep.....well, I think that with every purchase!

    Thank you

I recommend to keep the Q6600.... its still very capable and outperforms most notebook quad-core CPUs.

You might not need a second 8800M GTX unless if you really want the extra 40-50% gain in 3D performance.

The 8800M GTX is still quite powerful... still in the top 5 of top performing mobile cards.

    8800M GTX / 9800M GT = 96 shaders
    9800M GTX = 112 shaders
    GTX 260M = 112 shaders
    GTX 280M = 128 shaders

Yah the 8800GTX is still just fine as a single card in a laptop, and of course 8800GTX SLI is amazing if it scales of course. If you're a compulsive buyer, I would take Gophn's advice and just keep what's in it, and then if for some reason it's the laptop you decide to tie the knot with ( :D ) then you can throw another GPU and CPU in it. But as for the price, it's great, you would pay that much for any low end gaming laptop, and the 9262 is anything but low end, it has a desktop CPU in it! So id say go with it. ( Plus you can do those upgrades later if you keep it )
