So I did not use my p150hm in 2 weeks time ,so I tried to boot it up because i wanted a file off from it.

Seems I just a get a black screen now. No lines nor does screen switch on.

hdmi and dvi is also dead.

I hardly ever used laptop for gaming ,so the gpu temps was in check and downclocked most of the time.

Never had bsod issues ,never artifacted also.

To be honest it worked always without issues.

Should I try and bake it? did remove the card and put it pack and re pasted it.

The laptop does boot into windows I can hear the skype sound loud and clear.

If i have to replace to gpu which hd 6990m will work? Seems it would be cheapest to get and I think there is some hd 6990m locally from old alienwares ? Alienware one should work right?

    Regards

since ure able to hear the system boot into windows, it stand to reason that either ur GPU or ur display / display cable is faulty. if u decide to replace the gpu, the fastest options would be nvidia 680M or AMD 7970M, but they both need some modding on your side (driver modding for 680M or vbios flashing for 7970M) to work properly. in any case, even with a 6990M, its imperative that u stick to clevo cards! thus, do not get dell/alienware or msi gpus!

    Thanks

Will try and get a mxm gpu locally to test first ,and maybe take to the repair shop to see what they say.

Hopefully it is just the cable

I stand corrected, the laptop will not run without a dGPU.

the HM series have the igpu deactivated so u completely rely on the dgpu. my previous rig was also a p150hm thats how i know :)

Even then the EM and SM shut down after 30 seconds with no dGPU.
