I decided to plug my naked ear bud (one that mp3 phone headset or ipod earbud) and my audio jack don't work. It work for 1 sec then go down in volume. The funny thing is I know my earbud work perfectly fine and my ear bud work fine on the S/PDIF-out jack (less sound but fine easy for me to hear).

IS my audio broken (I so have full warranties)? or can it be fix by doing some configuration.

I decided to buy a cheap usb audio jack but confuse which one to get, I find one is 5.1 and another for 7.1.

I just want good high sound or like when u turn up ur tv volume and hear the TV sound and not the one that sound like it have 2 speaker on the side like S/PDIF.

Start Menu -> Control Panel -> Sound

There should be settings there to change between the 2 types of jack, and you can test out the audio.

I'm on a XP comp so can't give you the exact steps/names for w7 (Assuming you're on w7 of course)
