Is new vbios needed for 5870m for sager np8760 with catalyst 11.2?

Got the 5870m of course with my sager 8760. I must say this machine has been rock steady for quite some time now, and I love it. Ok it has it's fair share of minor quibbles but overall it's a solid laptop.

I was using 10.12 drivers and it's flawless. Going to 11.1 I get weird flashing textures in some games. HD video playback seems better(or maybe it's just my imagination) which is why I wanted to keep it.

Tried 11.2 and have issues with hdmi out...I get no picture when I set the monitor to external display only. Have not tried a game with 11.2 yet.

I'm wondering if the 5870m needs a vbios update, or maybe the new ati drivers just suck. Any body get the memo on these issues? I guess I'll go back to 10.12 for now.

 

Oh and I only ask if a new vbios is needed as the people with alienware laptops seem to need a vbios flash for these new drivers to work properly.

 

No ideas? I got the latest bios from sager...
