The Clevo D901C since its debut last March 2007, is equipped with a desktop LGA775 socket.... which can can now support:
    - desktop Core 2 Duo/Extreme/Quad CPUs (65nm and 45nm)

    It's 100% desktop quad core capable, from the Q6600, Q6700, Q9450, and the Q9550.

    I doubt it.

Even the new Montevina notebooks has shown to not be ready for the mobile quad-cores at the moment... may in the next mobile platform.

From what I understand, the Qosmio you are talking about has a normal dual core cpu, and has extra 3 cell processors, or a 3 core one, not sure, that works solely for encoding etc and not general use or, my guess, gaming.

So, if I am correct, it is not a Quad Core CPU, at least as I mean it.

Later this year there is a 35w mobile quad core coming, so we may see that pop up as a ultra-expensive upgrade on some mainstream laptops.

Correct, and in this implementation that they have unleashed, it is essentially a hybrid computing machine, the same as you would get if you had an Nvidia Tesla onboard. The 3 core Cell processor in this case is using OS drivers to offload HD content processing from the CPU. It's a very interesting way to make a "media center" laptop, but not the most efficient.
