I am seriously considering purchasing a NP8862 in the next month or two. Looking forward to playing the New COD, Starcraft 2, Splinter Cell etc... at the end of the summer. I have read about the replacement for the M860TU that just got released. Anybody have any good guesses on when the next 15.4 will be released and if we will get anything better than the GTX 260M for awhile?

Well, the GTX 260M just got out.. I would say, if you are the type of person that upgrades his laptop, the best thing to do is buy when a new laptop comes out. But still getting it now with the new GTX 260M and the latest intel C2D is a pretty strong move.

You will always have something better coming out in the months to come, so if you stick with that logic you'll never get a laptop. The best advice would be to get the laptop when you actually need it, and not a couple of months before.

I got mine about a month ago and I'm pleased to have the new GTX 260M and I can say that this thing is a beast and will be for quite a while.

Still, it'll be a while before the new 15'6 of Clevo comes out, so I think you're better off with the M860TU. If you need if for school I'd say wait till the end of summer so you get the best you can.

The M86xTU is the last 15.4" gaming machine we'll see from Clevo. It's 15.6" replacement will likely be out before the end of Q4.

As far as 15" Nvidia graphics go, there won't be anything faster than the GTX 260M until the next generation of cards.

I have no regrets about buying the NP8662, will be enjoying all of those games maxed out while others are waiting for the next best thing to arrive lol.

Agreed. IMO you should buy the best that's available/you can afford when you want it. There's no point in waiting for the "next best thing" because by then something new will have been announced.

I bought my 901c after the 900f was announced, but I chose to keep it anyways. It had everything I wanted in a notebook, and in my opinion will still have 1 up on the 900f and the 980nu because it's still the only notebook with both a desktop processor and SLI.

buy when you need and get the notebook that best suits your needs at that time, as others have said there is always something new being released.....but just keep your eyes open and when its time to buy get the one that best suits your needs....i agree with the others i cant see any 15" notebook getting a better GPU until the next gen are released.

Hence the reason I am still rolling with a T60 as my gaming laptop...

If they'd just release a real gaming laptop with an RGB LED screen my suffering would be over!!
