I'm about to order a M860tu and was wondering if the warranty is worth it for 3 years. It adds up about 250 - 300$ if I get parts and I was wondering if I am better off with the 1 year normal plan? Did you guys have any issues with the M860TU, especially after a year or 2? And that warranty doesn't cover accidental damage, so can't they just say it's physical damage each time you go to repair like apple does with my Ipod and still pay the reparation in the end?

I had an XPS M1710 before my current clevo and over 2 years its had 4 GPUs die, 3 motherboards and a hard drive. I ended up having to buy extended warranty and to this date its still not fixed because Dell has run out of 7950 GTX cards due to a parts shortage.

From my experience you'd be mad not to.

this one is immpossible to answer as the m860tu is not even a year old yet.

when your spending over £1700/$3400 (at time of exchange rate) dont you think a couple of hundred is worth it. unless you know computers inside out and are techie enough to rebuild it yourself if it was ever to break.
just say the motherboard packed up. theirs 350+ already gone.

Yeah, when you're spending this much you'd may as well protect your investment. But if you got a cheapo $500 model there's no point in a warranty since by the time it dies (we'll say just after 1 year), it's outdated anyways.
