Aduy guy told me to download driver 280.26, but I worry it might screw up my GPU since it didn't listed the 580m or any other notebook GPU and so I just want to make sure that it is OK and is needed before I proceed.
Thanks

This link lists the 580M under supported products:
NVIDIA DRIVERS 280.26 WHQL -
^i think they are for 32bit as normally it says 64bit
best use this page which gives you a list of the last 10 whql & beta drivers
NVIDIA Driver Downloads - Advanced Search
also there are 2 ways of loading drivers. using the auto detect search or manual clean in safe mode which imo is best.
if you need a walkthrough just holler. -

Cheesy are you running 32bit or 64bit as them above drivers are 32bit only.

Some relevant information for those curious...
Nvidia's driver code is unified between mobile/desktop and Geforce/Quadro, the only difference between same revision drivers labeled for each individually is the inf entries.
Nvidia's driver code supports all current gpu's at the time of the release however what entries are included in the infs determines what gpu's it'll install on, there is not separate codebases for types or series.
Is the notebook 580m driver the same as the desktop 580?
